The Heart Behind Walk Away Farm
A lifelong animal lover, Vermont girl at heart, and proud Tennessee mom — this is my story.

Hey my name is Amanda and this is my small buisness. I grew up in Vermont, surrounded by rolling green hills, open land, and animals at every turn. From as far back as I can remember, animals weren't just pets — they were family. That deep connection to the natural world and the creatures in it shaped everything about who I am.
At 21, I packed up my life and made the leap south to Tennessee — just me and my dog. It was a big move, but Tennessee felt like home almost immediately. The land, the pace of life, the warmth of the community — I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be.
Tennessee brought me more than a new home — it brought me my family. I'm now a proud mom of two wonderful girls, and together we've built a life that revolves around the animals we love.
Our little farm is full of life and personality. We share our home with 4 horses, 3 dogs, and 3 cats — each one with their own quirks, their own routines, and their own special place in our hearts. There's never a dull moment, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Raising my girls around animals has been one of the greatest gifts I could give them. They're learning responsibility, compassion, and the kind of quiet patience that only comes from spending time with creatures who can't speak for themselves.

If I'm not taking care of our own animals, you'll find me out on the trails on horseback. Riding is my favourite way to unwind — there's nothing quite like the freedom of being on a horse with the wind in your face and the world slowing down around you.
My best friend and my oldest daughter ride with me, and those moments together are some of the most treasured in my life. It's more than a hobby — it's how we connect, how we breathe, and how we remind ourselves what matters most.
That love for animals — the deep, instinctive kind that doesn't need explaining — is exactly what I bring to every sit. When I care for your animals, I'm not just doing a job. I'm doing what I was made to do.
I studied veterinary care and hold animal first aid training — so if something ever comes up with your animals, I know exactly how to respond calmly and correctly.
